The Word was life, light, God, and glory.

He was the literal words from the mouth

Of God as this new flesh continued this story.

This Lamb, who takes away the sin of the world. This light,

Whom the darkness cannot overcome—

These men—unworthy of His very sandals, yet followed forthright.

These ordinaries came to bear witness.

They left mother, father, job, and comfort,

But Jesus quickly demonstrated in Him only they would find true fullness.

In His authority He granted a family place

For all who believed. Some rejected, trusting their own strength.

But for us, from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace.

The same God who started all of life says we

Will see heaven opened with angels above.

This Jesus, Rabbi, Son of God, King of Israel is He.
