HEM·ology: noun: somewhere between zoology and theology.
Speak lips, speak up—
Speak of His goodness.
His unconditional, unfathomable
Goodness.
How I am daily reminded of
My wickedness
My depravity
My humanity…
Yet
I can remember my baptism
And glorify Him because of His
Goodness.
Sing voice, sing out.
Sing of His people in
His Church throughout the nations.
Sing of the accountability
Of the transparency
Of the larger than life,
Seemingly impossible
Truths
We dine on weekly
Together
In various homes,
Where unlikely matches in
Personalities sup together
Read, sing, pray and sometimes
Even cry together.
Shout.
From the depths of my
Lungs I say shout.
Shout of the beautiful union
He has provided in a husband.
One who protects, encourages, and
Leads me to the throne.
One who sings me to sleep.
One who illustrates daily how
Christ loves the Church.
Forever I will shout of my Love.
And now soul—be still and silent.
There is nothing to say.
I have no just words to bring
On what God has done in the
Our lives.
We have been bruised, yet
His faithfulness has taken us on a journey.
He reminds us to consider it joy.
He implores us to be translucent
With His people.
He takes us to Scripture of
His sovereignty.
And we give thanks.
My Father, I thank You
For always being closer than
The air I breathe.
I thank You for taking us to
Places of sorrow and suffering where
We can find
Joy
In You.
Worshiper, wife, mom—with the help of the Lord, this is my hierarchy of work. Beyond this I homeschool the girls and hold down a staff position at Zionsville Fellowship in Zionsville, Indiana. I read, write, do yoga, cook, and practice thinking pure and lovely things.
